Disaster Readiness Starts at Home
Before crisis strikes Central Wisconsin, make sure your household is prepared. The Marathon County Medical Reserve Corps recommends following official state guidelines to protect your family, vehicles, and pets.
KNOW THE RISKS
Preparedness starts with understanding the unique seasonal threats in Central Wisconsin. From severe summer tornadoes and flash flooding to extreme winter blizzards, knowing your environment helps you plan effectively.
MAKE A PLAN
Dictate clear evacuation routes, establish an out-of-area emergency contact, and set a designated family meeting spot. Ensure every member of your household knows exactly what to do when communication lines are down.
ASSEMBLE A KIT
Build a basic disaster supplies kit to sustain your household for at least three days. Include one gallon of water per person per day, non-perishable food, flashlights, extra batteries, and essential supplies for your pets.
